PDF Edit & Sign is a browser workspace for placing visual changes on one PDF and exporting a separate edited copy. It suits short corrections, form-style overlays, review marks, and drawn signature images rather than full desktop publishing.
Edit text depends on text blocks detected by the service. It redacts the selected block area and inserts replacement text during export; surrounding content does not reflow like a word processor. Scanned or image-only pages can receive overlays, but this editor does not run OCR. Sign captures a drawing from the signature pad and places it as an image; typed and uploaded signature modes are unavailable.
The toolbar also provides Add text, Redact, Highlight, Shape, Arrow, Draw, Image, Check, Checkbox, Date, Initials, Note, Search, page rotation, and zoom. Export writes a new PDF rather than modifying the source. Because rewriting can affect forms, links, annotations, metadata, and existing certificate-based signatures, inspect the downloaded copy before sharing it.

The inspected gateway and Python edit path use in-memory buffers and no-store response headers, but deployment logging and retention still depend on the configured infrastructure. Avoid confidential documents unless you accept this server workflow.

There is no dedicated cancel control once export starts. Reset clears the workspace afterward but may not stop an in-flight request.

The edit service is implemented to keep the PDF in memory, return the result immediately, and avoid upload or output folders. Gateway responses use no-store caching headers. Still review your deployment’s logging and retention practices.
