PDF Watermark Tool

PDF Watermark draws a text string or an image onto selected pages of a copy of your PDF. Presets include Confidential, Draft, Copy, Sample, Footer, and Custom.

• You need a visible label such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT on a working copy.
• You want a logo tiled or placed at a named position.
• You can accept that the mark is baked into a new PDF, not a removable stamp layer.

• Mark a draft before sending it for comments.
• Place a small logo in a corner or tile it lightly across pages.
• Label only the first page of a packet.

pdf-lib loads with ignoreEncryption: true. Text is drawn with drawText, optional uppercase, rotation, opacity 0.05–1, font size 8–120. Image marks use embedPng or embedJpg and a scale 0.05–1. Layout is single (positioned) or tiled. Positions include center and the six edge placements.

One PDF, up to 50 MB, plus optional PNG/JPG for image marks.

Output

Pages

All pages, first page, or a typed range via parsePageRanges.

1. Upload one PDF.
2. Pick Text or Image.
3. Enter text or upload a PNG/JPG logo.
4. Pick a style preset and page scope.
5. Click Apply watermark.
6. Open {base}-watermarked.pdf and check first, middle, and last marked pages.

The mark is part of the page content in the new file. Encrypted sources may fail. Certificate signatures typically become invalid after rewrite.

Watermarking runs in the browser with pdf-lib. The PDF and any logo image are not uploaded for this workflow. Identified analytics may include byte counts, page counts, and whether the mark is text or image, not the watermark string or the file contents.

• PDF Editor & Signer can place visual marks through a server-backed editor, including a drawn signature image.
• PDF Protect encrypts a copy; it does not stamp text.

• Check first, middle, and last targeted pages.
• Confirm tiled marks do not hide required content.
• Open the download in a reader; the source iframe is not a substitute for inspecting the new file.
• Keep the unmarked original if you may need a clean copy later.
